Privacy notice
This page explains what happens to your email address when you join our waitlist. It is short because we collect very little.
Last updated 2 October 2026
The short version
- We keep only the email address you type into the waitlist form.
- We use it for one thing: to tell you when TheTradingRobot opens.
- We delete it within 30 days of sending that email, or sooner if you ask.
- This website sets no cookies. It has no analytics and no advertising trackers, and nothing on it is loaded from other companies' websites.
Who is responsible for your data
TheTradingRobot.com runs this website and decides how your data is used. In data protection law, that makes us the controller of your data. For any question about this notice, or to use your rights, email support@
What we collect
- Your email address, when you type it into the waitlist form and press the button. Our host, Netlify, stores it with the date and time you joined, the IP address your request came from, and technical details such as your browser type and the page you sent it from. An IP address is a number that identifies an internet connection.
- Your choice to pause the moving background on the home page, if you press that button. Your browser remembers the choice in its own storage on your device (called local storage). It is never sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Standard technical records. Like every website host, Netlify keeps records of requests to the site, such as the IP address, the type of browser and the page asked for. These are needed to deliver the pages and to keep the site safe from attacks.
We do not ask for your name, and we never ask for trading account details or passwords on this website.
Why we use it, and our legal reason
We use your email address only to tell you when TheTradingRobot opens. We do not use it for anything else, and we never sell it. Our legal reason is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and the UK GDPR), which you give by joining the waitlist. You can withdraw it at any time, and this does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
The technical records are kept because we have a legitimate interest in running the website and keeping it secure (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use them to find out who you are.
Giving us your email is your choice. If you do not, the only difference is that we cannot tell you when we open.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not build a profile of you. Akismet (see below) only sorts sign-ups into spam and not spam. We check the spam folder by hand, so a real sign-up is not lost.
Who helps us
- Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. Netlify hosts this website and stores the waitlist. It acts only on our instructions, under its data processing agreement with us.
- Automattic, Inc. (Akismet), United States. Netlify uses Akismet to check form entries for spam. It is on Netlify's list of the companies it uses.
- Microsoft (Microsoft 365), which hosts our business mailbox. When you join, Netlify emails us a copy of your sign-up through an email delivery company on its list, so your email address also sits in our mailbox. We send the opening email from that same mailbox.
If we ever use another company to help send the opening email, we will add it here before we do.
Sending your data to the United States
Netlify, Akismet and Netlify's email delivery company are in the United States. Netlify takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, and its data processing agreement says transfers to Netlify rely on that framework. If the framework ever stops applying, the agreement says the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply instead (with the UK's international data transfer addendum for UK data). The agreement covers Netlify and the companies it uses. You can read it in section 14 of Netlify's data processing agreement.
Microsoft may also handle the copy in our mailbox outside the UK and the EU. Its data protection terms cover those transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until TheTradingRobot opens and we have sent you that one email. Within 30 days after that, we delete it from the waitlist and from our mailbox. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.
If we decide not to open, or we have not opened by 31 December 2027, we will delete the whole list within 30 days.
Netlify keeps its technical records of requests under its own rules. We do not download them or keep copies.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- show you the data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- stop using it, or limit how we use it.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time, which takes you off the waitlist. To do any of these, email support@
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office, and in the EU each country has its own authority.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no advertising trackers and no scripts, fonts or images loaded from other companies. Everything on it comes from our own website.

If we change this notice, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the change affects how we use your email address, we will tell you by email before it happens.
