The rules, in plain words

Each rule is one or more blocks in the builder. Every number will be changeable before you check the robot.

When
Every time a 30-minute bar closes, except in the 30 minutes before and after high-impact news for the euro or the US dollar.
Buy if
The MACD line (12, 26, 9) has just crossed above its signal line, and the ADX (14 bars) is above 20, which means the market is trending.
Sell if
The MACD line has just crossed below its signal line, and the ADX is above 20.
Then
It opens one trade with a stop loss 1.5 x ATR (14 bars) away and a take profit at twice the risk (2R). Once the trade is 1R in profit, the stop loss moves to the entry price plus 10 points (break-even).
Trade size
Each trade risks 0.5% of the account, and is never bigger than 2 lots.
Tell me
When a safety limit declines a trade, the robot emails you the reason, through MetaTrader's own email settings.

Its safety limits

When a limit is reached, the robot stops opening new trades. You can change the numbers, but you cannot delete the limits.

  • Daily loss limit5%

Counted from the balance at 00:00 Prague time, the way the firm counts it. After a 5% loss in one day it opens no new trades until the next day.

  • Total loss limit10%

Counted from the balance when you first started it. At a 10% total loss it opens no new trades.

  • Stands down earlyat 80%

At 80% of either limit (a 4% daily loss, an 8% total loss) it stops opening new trades, so a bad day ends before the firm's limit.

  • Account floor91%

If the account falls to 91% of its starting balance, it stops opening new trades.

  • Pause around news30 minutes

No new trades from 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after high-impact news for the euro or the US dollar.

  • Stop loss on every trade1.5 x ATR

Each trade closes by itself if the price moves 1.5 x ATR against it.

  • Most trades open at once1

It waits for its trade to close before it opens another.

  • Trades per day4

After four trades in one day it waits for the next day.

  • Open risk at most1.5%

It opens no trade that would put more than 1.5% of the account at risk at once.

  • Biggest trade size2 lots

A trade bigger than this is not placed.

  • Spread at most30 points

When the spread is wider than this, it waits.

The daily and total loss limits are set to match FTMO's published rules for its 2-step challenge, as read on 26 August 2026. Rules change: read your firm's current rules and set your own numbers. We never claim that a firm accepts our robots.

What it does not do

Every robot here does only what its blocks say. These are the things people often expect from a robot that this one does not do.

A limit stops new trades. It cannot stop prices from jumping, so a loss can sometimes go past the limit you set. More on the safety page.

MACD Trend with Daily Loss Limit

Not this

  • It opens no trade around big news, and none while a limit is reached.
  • It holds one trade at a time, and never makes a trade bigger after a loss.
  • A limit stops new trades. It cannot stop prices from jumping, so a loss can sometimes go past the limit you set.
  • Past results do not tell you what will happen next.

Build it, test it, get it

When we open: open the robot in the builder, change what you like, and press Check. Then test it on past prices in your own MetaTrader 5, and get it for your accounts.

The step-by-step guide covers every click, from the builder to a running robot.

Three steps

From this page to your chart

  1. Build. When we open, press Open it in the builder, change any number, then press Check. The builder says what is missing, in plain words. Building a robot

  2. Test. Download the free test copy and run it in the Strategy Tester. For this robot choose EURUSD and M30. This robot pauses around news. In the Strategy Tester, MetaTrader's calendar does not work, so it needs the news file from our free news helper. Without the file it opens no trades in a test. Testing a robot

  3. Get it. Enter the MetaTrader 5 account numbers it may run on. You will pay once for each robot, and we will email you when it is ready to download. The account lock

Questions about this robot

More answers on the questions page.

Is this robot allowed at my prop firm?

We cannot say, and we never claim that a firm accepts our robots. Its limits are numbers you set to match the firm's published limits, checked on the date shown. Read your firm's current rules before you use any robot, and set the numbers yourself.

Why does it stand down at 80% of the limit?

A firm's daily loss limit is a hard line: crossing it can end the account. Stopping at 80% leaves room for a trade that is already open to close at its stop loss without crossing the line. Prices can still jump past it.

What does the news pause need in the Strategy Tester?

MetaTrader's economic calendar does not work in the tester, so the robot reads a news file instead. Our free news helper writes that file from the calendar. How to make the news file.
